I suppose I am grown-up in the sense that don't live at home anymore, I am married (almost 4 years), have a 15 month old baby girl, and have graduated from college. I mean grown up in the sense that we are still living in the "one day" mode. Yes, I am throughly happy to be a poor, young, married mom. I think that by having not much now because we are recent college graduates and Tyler is getting ready to go back to school (physician's assistant school) we will appreciate more what we will (hopefully) have later. However, that does not mean I can't dream, right?

In the Kitchen
I am starting a new weekly post. They will be every Friday and it is called "In the Kitchen" (obviously). I will be posting about something I have made, be it baking or cooking. I decided to do this because cooking/baking is a big part of being a stay-at-home mom (and really anyone, as we all need to eat). I will post about things that I make often, new recipes, and perhaps some tips. I do not pretend to be an excellent chef or anything, but my food does generally taste good. I am well aware of my deficiencies, such as being not very crafty, etc. I have always loved to bake and cook and it seems to be one of my talents. I am, however, not so great at the whole presentation thing (mostly not so good at decorating cookies, frosting cupcakes, etc.).
Let's get started!
Throughout this post remember that my camera is a regular old point and shoot as explained in this post. |

Friday Night Date Night because I am guest posting on this great blog about how Tyler and I got together. Mackenzie has a great blog about dating your spouse on a small budget and you should all start following her!

Valentine's Day
We had a pretty low key Valentine's Day around here. Tyler got his wisdom teeth taken out early in the morning on Valentine's (because it was the soonest he could get them out). It ended up being really nice to have him around all day and he was not in too much pain. We ate soup and ice cream during the day, lazed around and enjoyed each others company.

Cupcakes and Shelves
As promised, here is a blog post about some delish cupcakes I made and a shelf I fixed up. Let me tell you about these cupcakes, they are amazing. I am by no means on the cupcake bandwagon and have in fact always liked cupcakes or anything to do with cake (as long as it is homemade). I make my fair share of all sorts of sweets and I have been craving chocolate-peanut butter cupcakes all week. I saw a recipe on pinterest and nothing could stop me from a making them. The actual cake is very chocolately, there is a mini Reece's in the middle and the peanut butter frosting is heavenly.

I Really Want to Write a Post
Yes, I do. I just don't know what about! I know I should be writing more often and I have been trying, but sometimes I just forget. Terrible... Sorry to all 13 people who read this. Or are there more of you? Sorry, I sometimes just wonder if very many people read this.
Should I tell you what has been on my mind lately?

Learning from Daddy
My husband, Tyler, loves to teach Elanor such odd things! It is all pretty adorable and they are so cute together. I feel like a lot of dads probably do this with their little ones as well. Tyler has taught Elanor to put her face in a a bowl or any object that will sort of amplify your voice and yell in it, he taught her to say "whew" any time she put her shoe to her nose, he taught her to say "mmmmm" when she takes a bite and "aaahhhh" after she takes a drink, and lately he has taught Elanor how to kick a soccer ball (as shown in this video).
