Bryce Canyon

We went to Bryce Canyon this past weekend with some good friends of ours, the Byrds (Evan, Mikaela & Malachi). We had a lot of fun on this short trip. For some reason, I had no idea Utah had so many National Parks. We are going to try to go to as many as we can while we live here. We camped for two nights in the park, spent all day Saturday hiking and came home on Sunday. Bryce Canyon was beautiful and so unreal. It was not anything like Zion, but it gave me that same sort of awe-inspiring,           Disneyland type feeling. Does Bryce Canyon look like the Big Thunder Mountain Railroad ride at Disneyland to anyone else?

Again---as I said before with Zion---words do not do this beautiful place justice. I took so many pictures and this is only few. Enjoy!

Malachi and Elanor all ready to go hiking, Elanor loves Malachi. She could not stop saying "Mali".
Tyler and Elanor at the top, ready to go down into the Canyon (love her funny lips!).

Thor's Hammer

On the Canyon floor.

It's called The Queen's Garden

The babes are fast asleep.
Queen Victoria (do you see her?)

My husband is silly. :)

Tyler told me to climb up this, but at the top I realized it was windy and I was wearing a skirt....

At the campground:

Since it was Cinco de Mayo while we were there, Tyler felt like being creative and made a piƱata. It was pretty awesome and Elanor loved trying to hit it with a stick.

Mikaela whacking it.

And then Evan--he is the one who actually broke it open.

Elanor enjoying her first ever toasted marshmallow. She loved it! Mmmmmmmm--as she would say.
We drove up to Bryce Point right before we left, and it did not disappoint--the view was amazing.

We had a great trip and it was fun to spend it with such great friends. Elanor also slept well!!! Hurrah!

Oh, and yes I know Tyler and I are wearing matching shirts (made by my brother, Ian). I packed first and then he said he was bringing the same shirt. Oh, well...at least we look all coordinated... :)
