Memorizing

Elanor is quite good at memorizing and also seems to enjoy it as well. So, I decided to have her memorize one poem, one Shakespeare speech and one scripture. So far she has done the poem and Shakespeare. We are doing it for "school" but also we have been a bit behind in school ever since having Alice, but I am still trying to do it often.

Here are two videos of Elanor, the first is "At the Sea-side" by Robert Louis Stevenson and the second is one of Puck's lines from Shakespeare's "A Midsummer Night's Dream".

Camping in the Uintas

We wanted to go camping for Father's Day weekend, but had not decided on a place yet, but then our friends, the Pitchers (who live above us), were going camping in the Uintas. So, we went together! It was a lot of fun!

This was my view a lot of the time.

 Tyler and the campsite.

I'm not exactly sure what the kids are doing in these pictures, but I love when the sun does this!

 She makes me laugh.

The campground was next to Washington Lake, one of about a 100+ lakes in the Uinta mountains. I did not really get a good picture of the lake, as I was holding a sleeping Alice.

Alice loves getting her diaper changed and to be on her back with someone talking to her.

Two little cuties snuggled up and ready for bed.

 Good Morning!

Later, we went on a little walk/hike and found another lake.

 More diaper changing happiness:

After we packed up, we left the campsite and stopped at The Provo Falls. It was possibly my favorite place we went to that weekend. It was so beautiful!
There were several falls, and a small hike to see them all. The rocks were a lot of fun to climb as well!

I loved how the water looked gold because of the color of rocks in the riverbed.
Yep. that is me nursing Alice over there.

The main falls are behind Tyler and the girls.

We took this by ourselves.

Later, we met up with our friends, the Boothes, at Mirror Lake.

 Elanor and Max

Tyler caught a fish (Dustin did too!).

 A little chipmunk  (Maddy).
Silly kids.

We had some dinner and then Alice had pretty much had enough. She had been good for so long, but decided she was done. I took her back to the car to nurse and she calmed right down and went to sleep on our ride home. It was a fun and busy weekend. Thanks to all of our wonderful friends for camping and exploring with us!

The Weekly Photo (s)

I have fallen behind again! Plus, I have not written a regular blogpost in awhile. I guess that happens when one has a new baby.

Well, here are some Weekly Photos:

Should have been posted last Monday (the 22nd):

The week of the 14th-20th was a busy one! On the Tuesday (16th), it was Tyler's birthday. Also, Tyler's mom and Kenny and his Aunt, Uncle and cousins were all up in Idaho vacationing at the dunes. So, we drove up Monday night and stayed most of the day Tuesday.
Here is a picture of Elanor and I in one of their ATV/sand car things. I did not take many pictures as I forgot my camera!

Later in the week, Tyler's mom, Kim, and Kenny drove down to Utah in their motor home to spend a day with us:

Then, on Friday we went camping in the Uintas with friends (the Pitchers) and stayed up in the Uintas until bedtime on Saturday with some other friends (the Boothes). Then, on Sunday it was Father's Day and our 7th anniversary, plus my sister had her first baby! Talk about a busy week!

Tyler and Alice at the Provo Falls up in the Uinta Mountains.

The Weekly Photo, which is actually posted on the right day!:

I made this nightgown for our beautiful girl.

The Weekly Photo (s) + camping trip + some recent photos

Weekly Photo which should have been posted on June 1st:
A quick family photo while on a hike when we camped up in Big Cottonwood Canyon.

Weekly Photo which should have been posted on June 8th:
An iPhone picture, but it was so cute of these sisters!

First camping trip of the year:

Also, Alice's first camping trip!
At the campsite and just look at that tiny baby!

Hiking.

There was some drama. But she got over her "tired knees"and with plenty of energy she was able to scramble up the rocks to the top of the waterfall. It was much steeper than it looks in this picture.

Donut Falls.
A victorious Elanor up on top.

I unfortunately could not climb up since I was carrying Alice and she needed to nurse, but Tyler got these pictures for me!

Back at the campsite:

We had some really delicious shrimp tacos for dinner.

Tyler and the girls in the tent.

Alice did really well for being only two months old. She had one crying spell but it was after dinner and not in the middle of the night thankfully. It was a fun little trip!

And finally, here are some recent pictures of Alice:

We sure are loving our pretty little girl.
