The Weekly Photo

Tyler and I celebrated our 6th anniversary on Saturday. I love this guy and he is so easy to be married to, and I am so grateful for him. I'm glad I chose him and stuck with him even though I first started dating him when I was 16. The first time we held hands was at my 16th birthday party. My family had planned a surprise party and then with many of my friends we went and saw a movie afterwards. I knew Tyler, we had some similar friends and I had had a little crush on him for sometime--my sister made sure to invite him as she knew I liked him. We sat next to each other during the movie and my hand was down at my side and so was his. Somehow, we started holding hands. It is a running joke between us as to who started it. I say its him. Whatever the case, I remember in my 16 year old mind, thinking that my heart was beating so loud everyone could probably hear it because I was so excited that Tyler Laurent was holding my hand! It sounds so silly now, but I remember trying not to breathe too loud and I was in such a flutter that I hardly remember what happened in the movie (It was "Ocean's 12"). And now, nine years later, with six of those years being married, one beautiful daughter, two moves across the country, and a lot of life experience in between--I still love him and so much more every day.

Oh, yes, that was incredibly mushy and cheesy, but it does not make it any less true.

Here are some old pictures for your viewing pleasure:
Our first prom and official date together. We were both 16.
I was a senior in high school here, almost graduated in fact.
Married in 2008--I'm 19 and he's 20. Young, I know.

Honeymoon.
We moved to Virginia six months after we got married.
After two and half years of marriage, I gave birth to Elanor.
A few months later we graduated from college and headed out into the world (Utah).
We're still here, but there is a lot ahead of us, with more school and more moves and hopefully, more children.

The Weekly Photo/Father's Day/Tyler's Birthday

Cherry picking at a friends house!

Today is Tyler's birthday! He's 26 and goodness, I love this guy. I could go on and on, but really the most important thing is that he is the most loving husband, the best father and the kindest person. I am so glad I chose so well.

Also, as it was Father's Day yesterday--I just want to say I have a wonderful dad. He always puts his family first, is so loving and supportive to my mom, and is such a good father. My dad is goofy, often says confusing things without explaining himself, likes puzzles, hiking and being with his family. He is just my favorite dad!  He is also an amazing grandpa and Elanor loves him so much. I am an especially blessed girl to have both a wonderful father and mother.

Also: I want this photo to be added to my Weekly Photo book, but as you already saw it, well, don't pay attention.

Spring Recital

Last night was Elanor's recital (also mine, as I teach 8 classes at the studio) and all of my classes did really well! Unfortunately, I was a bit disappointed by Elanor's class, because they have done it better, but oh well, they are three year olds! Elanor's partner in the dance had the wrong time somehow, so she got there way after their dance was over. It was a bit heartbreaking that this little girl did not make it! It also made it hard to figure out partners last minute with three year olds. In class, they never messed up the partner part, but did this time. I wanted Elanor to join with another group and be a trio, but it did not quite work out. Elanor and the girl next to her ended up being the only ones who remembered to circle around with their partner. Elanor really did a good job and remembered most of the dance, which I was really happy about!

I do have a video and some pictures!
Waiting to go on!

Elanor's class.

Waiting to go onstage!

After the show!

My Aunt Terri and cousin, Julie, came to watch Elanor!

Here is the dance! They are dancing to "You Can Fly" from Peter Pan. Elanor is on the far right.

It feels nice to be all done! I had seven dances in this recital and everyone did well. Summer break feels like it is here now (granted I am teaching summer classes in July).

This Swimsuit

Elanor has worn this Janie and Jack swimsuit for the last two summers and is wearing it again this summer. Granted by design there is a lot of room in it and Janie and Jack stuff seem to run a little big (I would hardly know as I have not bought many things there, as they can be expensive). I bought this swimsuit, size 18 months, back in 2012 for about $18, cheap for Janie and Jack, but a little more than I would usually spend on a swim suit for a baby. However, as it is going on three years, still fits and has yet to have a tear or look raggedy, I would say it was money well spent. Plus, it is still my favorite swim suit of hers.

The swim cap does not fit anymore, unfortunately.

She has sure grown up though, even if the suit does still fit.
