Wise Words

"I have two daughters that will have to make their way in this skinny-obsessed world, and it worries me, because I don't want them to be empty-headed, self-obsessed. emaciated clones; I'd rather they were independent, interesting, idealistic, kind, opinionated, original, funny--a thousand things before 'thin'. And frankly, I'd rather they didn't give a gust of stinking chihuahua flatulence whether the women standing next to them has fleshier knees than they do. Let my girls be Hermione's, rather than Pansy Parkinsons. Let them never be Stupid Girls. "

~J.K. Rowling

I quite agree. There is just one thing I would clarify though. It is not a bad thing to be thin. We should always aim to be healthy and fit. Also, it is not a bad thing to care about our appearance and try to look nice. BUT being thin and beautiful is not the only thing girls are good for.  There is so much more to us, and yes, I would rather that Elanor was all those good things J.K. Rowling mentioned before being thin and beautiful. Let's not raise "Stupid Girls". Yes, this does sound a bit like this post.
