Hogle Zoo with Elanor!

My wonderful cousin, Julie, took Elanor and I to the zoo last Friday. We had a ton of fun! I had never been to SLC's zoo, so it was fun to go and see what it had to offer. Elanor loved it for the most part (she got a little tired and hot near the end). It was sooo hot. We got there at 9:30 and left at 11:30 and it was already over 90 degrees. Luckily, there were a lot of misters (is that what they are called?) throughout the zoo.
Looking at the monkeys!
Elanor just got right on in there--we did not know these people.

Elanor loved this gorilla statue---it was almost her favorite thing at the zoo.

Elephants! This one is a baby.

They had this hollowed out stone log thing that kids could climb through and Elanor loved it! She did not want to leave and went through it several times.

Peeking through a hole in the log.

Seals!

By far the coolest thing at the zoo were the tigers. How often is that ever said? The big cats are always sleeping and therefore not very interesting. However, these tigers were playing. There was a huge ball in the water and the tigers were hitting it around. They put on a pretty good show.

Seriously, tigers are beautiful.

There were five tigers at this zoo (I think). While two were playing in the water, there were three walking back and forth on this bridge looking down on all us humans. They were fairly intimidating.

After this, Elanor had a melt down so we did not see the rest of the zoo. We did stop and see the crocodiles on our way back to exit, though.

We had a fun trip and would love to go again and see more of the zoo. Next time, we would love to bring Tyler since he has not been to the zoo with Elanor yet. Thanks Julie for taking us!

  1. I am deathly afraid of tigers! The one on the bridge looks like it wants to eat you too! Scary!!
