The Weekly Photo

Elanor and Noelle
The Forkey's (family friends that I have known my whole life and are pretty much family), came to SLC for General Conference and we were lucky enough to see quite a bit of them. We love them so much and Elanor had so much fun playing with all of them. She especially loved Noelle!

The Weekly Photo

She was quite pleased with herself because she figured out how to give Baby Heidi a ride.
Yes, this was supposed to be up Monday, and yes, I am late again...

In other news, it is General Conference this weekend! What is that you say? General Conference---a huge get together of Latter-Day Saint (Mormon) leaders from around the world speaking to members and non-members alike. It is a time to feel spiritually nourished and generally learn how to be a better person. So, feel free to watch and learn a bit more about what Mormons are all about. Watch here.

The Weekly Photo + a video

I did not take any pictures last week! The weather was rather miserable and cold, we did not do much and the one day I wanted  my camera, I forgot it! So, I took a picture today, for my Weekly Photo, which does not really count. Oh, well. I did make some videos though, so I am putting one of those up!
Elanor picking flowers this morning.
Elanor loves being read to and loves looking at books on her own as well--as most everyone who reads this blog already knows. She has memorized several books, especially ones that are her favorites and we read often. I decided to finally get a video of her "reading" and it is so cute. She is "reading" Dream Animals by Emily Winfield Martin. It is a beautiful bedtime book and I highly recommend it.

Also, it was General Conference this past weekend! Every year, I find myself getting more excited for it. I love General Conference and learning about the Gospel and how to be a better person. If you missed it, need a recap, or have never heard of General Conference, check out the talks here.

In the Kitchen: Harry Potter Recipe

*This recipe is for last week's recipe, I will put up one this week as well.

I am excited to share this recipe with you! It is tasty and perfect for chilly fall days.  As promised it is a Harry Potter recipe, as they will be all month for Harry Potter Month.  It is, of course, from my Harry Potter cookbook. I made Beef Stew with Herb Dumplings. This cookbook has a recipe for anytime food is mentioned at all in the books and this one happens to be from the 7th book. When Harry, Ron and Hermione were briefly staying at Grimmauld Place, and they were finally on good terms with Kreacher, Kreacher made them some very delicious meals. One of which, was a stew (chapter 12). So here is the recipe Dinah Bucholz (author of the cookbook) decided to put down for Kreacher's stew:

Beef Stew with Herb Dumplings
*note--This recipes takes a long time to make, but it is not difficult. Allow yourself about 3 hours from start to finish. Also, we gobbled up the stew before I remembered to take pictures. I only have some pictures of empty bowls and the empty soup pot.  See:

Lame. Sorry.
(keep reading, there are pictures of Elanor...)
